A first for everything

 That time

when I bit into a seedless grape
Or that time
with melted cheese on a biscuit

Shuddering in the first chill
of the incoming wind front
on doorsteps on the hill

A complete rainbow
around and over
the bridge leading
to the devil's leer
a yearning
full of cheer
finished with - a silent vow

Smelling the memories of another
delighting in the stories
told by a mysterious stranger
grasping on to little pieces
an escape from
the daily business

Listening, really hearing
the fullness of the gong
a vibration unhinged
following
the tendrils of a song

A reconnection
and a familiar softness
a tender notion
tangled limbs in a mess
a hunger a thirst
rise up threatening to roar
Is it still a first
if we've done it before?
